Tracemark, awarded as ‘Breakthrough business of the year’

Berta Serret, the founder of Tracemark, has managed to position her Spanish brand as a world leader in jewelry traceability and internationally recognized as ‘Innovative Business of the Year 2022’ by Positive Luxury.

Tracemark is the only company capable of tracing a diamond of any size to its origin and certifies exclusively RJC CoC recycled gold and Fairmined gold, i.e. gold with positive impact.

The founder decided to create Tracemark, with the dream of transforming the diamond and jewelry industry, towards a fairer, more ethical, and dignified future for everyone involved in the jewelry supply chain. She realized her dream by traveling between India and the U.S. to develop the first in-house encrypted software, unique in the world, capable of providing complete traceability of a jewel.

Now, Berta’s work has been recognized internationally. As stated by Ami Nelson-Bennett, Co-CEO of Positive Luxury, “It’s exciting to see traceability technology move beyond fashion and fully into the jewelry and diamond industry, because it’s about time. Tracemark, a totally necessary and impressive tool.”

Positive Luxury recognizes companies that adapt to new market needs and climate change, giving visibility to a new industry. For this reason, Tracemark is positioned as the only company that provides complete and certified traceability of a jewel, from the origin of the raw materials to the final consumer.

The jury was made up of leading industry figures, including Alyssa Auberger, Chief Sustainability Officer at McKenzie, Charles Boulton CEO of HSBC Private Bank, and Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever.

Ze García, a sewing firm, has also collaborated with Berta Serret, in line with the commitments to traceability and ethical and sustainable trade. In Barcelona, they have met to give life to the first made-to-measure dress with traceability in the market.
